We are sharing this information as a public service to protect the Lincoln Park community from the financial loss, blight, and dirty politics that prevent our community from getting on a positive track.
Frank Vaslo's record has demonstrated that he does not put the best interests of the Lincoln Park residents or businesses first.
Frank Vaslo has been publicly criticized for
Calling residents, commissioners and employees names such as "idiot", "liar", and "ignorant" ;
Sending correspondence that undermines the city council, community residents, and city employees ;
Not supporting local businesses in Lincoln Park;
Regular rude remarks, affectations and gestures to council peers and audience members during public meetings and outside of meetings;
Intentionally lying or misleading his peers, as well as taxpayers, on various issues including city finances;
Violating ordinances;
Using his office to advance his political career - appointments of campaign supporters;

October, 2009: Frank Vaslo violates Campaign Finance Act - uses taxpayer resources, city logos to mail literature to support his slate of candidates.
September 29, 2009, Frank Vaslo being sued as an individual in Federal Court(Federal Case 209-cv-13854- RHCMKM)in part for using a fake name on a web site where he is also a Moderator to libel, harass, etc. Lincoln Park Residents who oppose his political decisions.

Aside from his service with the city council, Frank Vaslo's professional experience is limited to yard care and maintenance. Lincoln Park requires a leader with the experience to necessary manage its $25 million budget.
More important than experience, Lincoln Park requires a leader who understands that the city is comprised of ordinary residents and businesses and does not seek only to hobnob with special classes that pander to each others interests. Vaslo's convictions on our city's financial health was the complete opposite within a 30 day period. After reviewing the above video, please view this one that proves that everything Frank Vaslo has promised to the Lincoln Park voters, to coin his phrase, is nothing but baloney.
Frank Vaslo has demonstrated on many occasions that he just doesn't get how city finances work and the City of Lincoln Park residents are paying the price for his statements, decisions and lack of knowledge.
In a one month period, Vaslo said two opposite statements regarding his position on tax millages [refer to video to the right and below]:
May 21, 2007: The only kind of milage that I would ever approve will be a specific milage targeted for a specific operation" ..."I will not support any money disappearing into the general fund black hole."
June 25, 2007: "I personally don't like idea of segregating these [tax millages], I think it's much better off to keep them all as general fund sort of activities and depend on the mayor & council to dole the money up appropriately at budget time."
He has proven that he cannot be trusted as he will say something one week and then state the complete opposite within days. Vaslo will tell you what he thinks you want to hear to gain your vote - period.

Frank E. Vaslo's Performance Issues, lack of professionalism, experience, abilities, and using his political office for political advancement are hindering the progress of Lincoln Park:
Fought to allow the Hustler Strip Club Settlement agreement to stand which Vaslo supported to NOT enforce ordinances against the strip club that would protect the community against the secondary negative effects of Strip Clubs.;
August 14, 2007: Vaslo promised to force adult businesses to follow every, single rule --- May 5, 2008: Vaslo brings resolution (votes YES) to ratify Hustler Strip Club Settlement agreement that prohibits the city from enforcing many of our adult ordinances! Once again LIED to the residents!;
Disrespects Veterans - Passed out Vote For Frank E. Vaslo files for Council during the Memorial Day parade - May 2005;
Vaslo is known for calling residents names during council meetings and outside of meetings - when the camera is off;
Pushed hard for the Small Business Fireworks Ordinance that would have required small business owners selling seasonal fireworks to spend thousands of dollars on unneeded sprinkler system. Resolution failed after community uproar against it. Vaslo voted against eliminating the sprinkler requirement because he "just doesn't like fireworks";
Supported Kilpatrick for Office by asking Lincoln Park Voters to support Kilpatrick in a council meeting and was robo-call spokesman for the Kilpatrick campaign.;
Vaslo is known for his unprofessional affectations and gestures, displayed when he doesn't like what residents, peers and employees have to say or disagree with him; Vaslo is the Monica Conyers of Lincoln Park!;
Increased taxes, wasteful spending, and lack of budget control are the primary reasons Lincoln Park faces a financial crisis.
Frank Vaslo voted YES to every rate, tax, and fee increase since he first took a seat on the council.
He voted for these tax increases despite his political campaigns that called for no more taxes and for the city to learn to live within its existing budget.
Frank Vaslo was the MOVER and voted YES on every Council Resolution for the Early Retirement Incentive Agreement aka ERI.
This was just another blow to the already damaged Lincoln Park financial budget (as evidenced by Plante & Moran city audit).
Some of the various fee, tax, and budget increases that Vaslo moved, supported and/or voted yes are listed below; in addition to budget reduction resolutions that he voted against that would have reduced the city's budget. Frank Vaslo's actions on the council do not reflect his campaign promises!
During his campaign for office he sold residents on the idea that he did not support additional taxes and that the city could manage city services using it's existing $23 million budget.
When Frank Vaslo took office, he abandoned his campaign pledges and voted for every rate, tax, and fee increase that was presented to him; thus increasing the city budget while at the same time slashing government services.
June 18, 2007: Frank Vaslo Quotes regarding proposed tax increase:
"This millage is going no where. "It's dead as duck in the river"... "This city uses 15 plus mils in an almost $23M budget for a city less than 40,000 citizens..."How much money does this city need to spend?"... now the city wants to tack on another 4mils?" "Don't support any of these taxes, don't believe"..."Let the city live within it's budget."
